Building automation controller
Use advice for data set The EPD type is cradle to gate with options, modules C1–C4, and module D. This system boundary includes all relevant life cycle stages: raw material supply (A1) and transport (A2), manufacturing processes (A3), transport of the product (A4) and packaging waste recycling (A5) were included. In accordance with the ECO platform guidelines for electronic products, all B modules are declared from the product use phase. The end-of-life phase covered product demolition (C1) and transport to a recycling facility (C2), waste processing (C3) and disposal (C4). No relevant life cycle stages were omitted. Manufacturing of the machines and construction of the facilities required for the production are excluded, as is transportation of employees. The system boundary of the assessment is presented the picture.
Technical purpose of product or process This EPD describes the Ouman's product S203 OMA0253 Controller. It is a programmable automation system that enables monitoring and management of a property's building automation. Ouman S203 is wall mounted heating controller, ideal for all water circulation heating systems. S203 can also handle two heating circuits and one domestic hot water circuit.
General comment on data set Allocation is required if the production process produces more than one product and the flows of materials, energy and waste cannot be separately measured for the studied product. Avoiding allocation could not be avoided for electricity and heating consumption, and waste generation, as the information was only measured on factory level. The inputs were allocated to each studied product based on their production volume (mass in kilograms). This study does not exclude any modules or processes which are stated mandatory in the EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 and the applied PCR. Data was available for all inputs and outputs, and thus no flows had to be excluded from this assessment due to lack of detailed data.

1This impact category deals mainly with the eventual impact of low dose ionizing radiation on human health of the nuclear fuel cycle. It does not consider effects due to possible nuclear accidents, occupational exposure nor due to radioactive waste disposal in underground facilities. Potential ionizing radiation from the soil, from radon and from some construction materials is also not measured by this indicator.
2The results of this environmental impact indicator shall be used with care as the uncertainties on these results are high or as there is limited experiences with the indicator.
